Eastforest Homes is proud to have partnered with Habitat for Humanity since 2007.
This year Eastforest Homes has been recognized with a plaque by Habitat for its efforts to the program.
Habitat for Humanity Canada is a national, non-profit, faith-based organization working for a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. The mission of the organization is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty. Many affiliates across the United States and Canada operate successful ReStores—some of which raise enough funds to build an additional 10 or more houses per year. Habitat ReStores are retail outlets where quality used and surplus building materials are sold at a fraction of normal prices. Proceeds from ReStores help local Habitat for Humanity affiliates fund the construction of houses within the community.
Materials sold by Habitat ReStores are usually donated from building supply stores, contractors, demolition crews or from individuals who wish to show their support for Habitat. In addition to raising funds, ReStores help the environment by rechanneling good, usable materials into use. Eastforest has been among those local partners donating annually.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Site Supervisors and their teams, the Customer Service Department and Bob Ostell for their hard work and dedication to this program. Thanks to their commitment to recycling all their slightly used and surplus building materials – we are able to donate these materials to Habitat. Thanks to your efforts, we have made a significant contribution toward the building of 6 homes for low-income families in our region. These individuals have also helped to protect our environment by recycling useable materials and diverting these goods from our landfills.
Let’s continue into 2009 with an increased commitment and ongoing spirit of excellence and team spirit that embodies how all of us at Eastforest Homes are working to “Build a Better Tomorrow.”

With the finishing touches now completed, The Rotary Club of Kitchener-Conestoga officially launched their 2008 Dream Home with a celebration for the volunteers, including trades and suppliers, and local dignitaries. The house, located at 22 Parkdale Drive in the Huron Village community of Southwest Kitchener, was again generously built by Eastforest Homes and its suppliers.
The 23rd Annual Dream Home Lottery is guaranteed to be an exciting one - the house is valued at $495,000. In addition, the Grand Prize Winner will also receive a $15,000 shopping spree from Home Furniture making the total grand prize $510,000. The 2,377 sq. ft. two-storey Kaufman Model is loaded with special features and upgrades including a complete premium home entertainment, media network and home communication system by Smart Home Canada, and the home is further enhanced with a spectacular interior design by Heer's Interiors and furnishings from Home Furniture in Kitchener.
Tony Denison, President of the Rotary Club of Kitchener-Conestoga, says, "Over the past twenty-two years almost 5.5 million dollars has been raised from Dream Home proceeds to financially support many local organizations that in turn provide much needed services to our community. This year's proceeds go to support both the Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region, to provide emergency shelter to women 16 years or older experiencing any form of abuse, and to the Grand River Conservation Foundation to create a new publicly accessible natural space on a 250 acre parcel of land just outside Kitchener."
Michael Klein, Chairman of the Rotary Dream Home Committee had this to say, "This year, the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club is once again proud to have Eastforest Homes as our builder and partner. The management and staff of Eastforest Homes, together with its suppliers, have again embraced the 2008 Dream Home project as they did last year. Their community commitment has set the scene for another successful fundraiser."
Eastforest Homes is proud to be part of the 2008 Dream Home, a great project that will help advance important causes in the community. The purchase of a ticket could make you the lucky winner of the Dream Home, or even one of the 120 early bird prizes. Visit the model today to see what we built!
